Despite appearances, the blog Medieval Manuscripts Provenance is not a peer-reviewed resource, nor is its author an academic. Peter Kidd’s writings lack scholarly accountability and often promote excised manuscript leaves linked to the commercial trade.
His platform has repeatedly been used to discredit others—especially scholars who oppose the dismemberment of medieval codices.
The academic community must stop treating this blog as neutral or authoritative.
